Presidents Report: 2021

By now you are all aware of the changes that had to be made due to the COVID virus.

With these changes in place, and with the majority of our membership being double vaccinated we have resumed our monthly Luncheons.  We were also permitted to hold our Oktoberfest, the first time in two years. We had over 90 of our members in attendance. We have many of the attendee’s contact us to say it was very well done and they enjoyed themselves.

I would also like to point out the importance of communicating with each other and bringing forward any and everything that might be of concern or interest to fellow Riflemen.  You are also encouraged to pass on things of interest to an Executive member who in turn will ensure it gets the widest distribution.

Your executive is always busy behind the scenes ensuring the continued efficiency of your association.  Worthy of mention is your Secretary, Janice Marshall who makes sure that each and everyone of you with an email address gets the memo’s that I send her, and ask to be sent out to you, and Sandy, your Treasurer/Membership, who is always ensuring that your dues are paid and up to date. She is also instrumental in creating the News Letter, so if any of you have photo’s or stories that would be of interest to the membership, don’t hesitate to inform her, so it can be included in future issues.

Should you know of any ex-Riflemen that are not yet part of the Association, you should pass their name on to the executive so we can try to contact them.  We are trying to encourage new members to come on board with us.  Our Secretary, Janice qorbcsecretary@gmail.com, continues to inform our members of important information that is of interest.  It is also important that any changes you make to your information on file, be sent to her so that  she can update our records.  Your cooperation in this area would be greatly appreciated.

The Kit Shop is controlled by Ken Bisson, he has a limited supply of items.  The Museum is fully open and is worthwhile visiting, it is maintained by Jim Bell, Rene Cromwell and Bob Scrafton.

Mike continues to look after upgrades to the Web Page and works to bring about improvements that we trust the membership will enjoy.  You are invited to visit the page and if you have suggestions or ideas that you feel will benefit the Association, please pass them on for consideration.

We also intend to pass along items of interest as we are made aware of them.  Meanwhile, why not get that box of military memorabilia of old pictures or whatever stories or news articles you have and pass them on so we can display them in the Museum.

I would like to recognize the time and effort that Tom Martin, Past President, dedicated to the Association for over Ten years.  He is the main reason that we are strong and viable.

Joe Rozon President
